The person behind the phone call

About Greg Colosi

Greg Colosi, Pittsford Home Pros

I'm working on the smile. Bear with me.

69 years in this area. I know who's good.

I was born in Henrietta, New York. My dad ran a barbershop on East Henrietta Road for over fifty years. My three brothers, my sister, and I all grew up here — and all five of us still live in the greater Rochester area. I went away for college on a golf scholarship, but came right back. This is home.

I've lived in Pittsford for the last twenty-five years with my wife Andrea. Kids are grown, three grandchildren, and I have no plans to go anywhere.

"I've always had a business. I don't know any other way."

You might recognize Colosi's Cleaners — I ran a dry cleaning pickup and delivery business that Rochester homeowners trusted me with for years. Before that, a long distance phone service in the early eighties, a Yellow Pages directory, and a time management training company called Eagle Day Planner. I've always had a business. I don't know any other way.

The idea for Pittsford Home Pros goes back about twenty-five years, right around the time I started the dry cleaning business. I had homeowners who trusted me with their dry cleaning. I figured if they trusted me with that, they'd probably trust me to find the right people for their home renovations. So I started doing it informally — recommending painters, landscapers, house cleaners. Vetted ones. People I knew. And when something went sideways, I got in the middle and made sure it got done right.

My name was on it. Still is.

Now I'm sixty-nine years old and I don't like sitting around. Pittsford Home Pros is the business I've been running in the background for twenty-five years. It just finally has a name.

If you hire someone through me and something goes wrong, you call me. I'm your advocate — not the contractor's. That's been true since the dry cleaning days, and it's still true now.
