We have good friends with cottages on Canandaigua Lake, and we make the drive out there many times a year. Every single time, I'm reminded how special this place is. The village, the lake, the restaurants, the festivals — Canandaigua has a way of making you feel like you're somewhere far from home without ever leaving the region.
Canandaigua Lake is the fourth largest of the Finger Lakes — eleven miles long, crystal clear, surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards. The famous Boathouse Row along the waterfront has nearly 80 historic boathouses, some dating back to 1888, and it's one of the most photographed spots in all of upstate New York. Dinner at Nolan's on the lake, a summer evening at CMAC, the Canandaigua Art & Music Festival on Main Street — this is a town that knows how to enjoy itself.
